First Step To Build A Business On The Side…

If you are currently working in a J.O.B I am sure the thought of starting something on the side must have crossed your mind.
 
Shhh you say…
 
Don’t worry my friend it’s an open secret… don’t take me wrong I have spend more than 20 years in corporate life. In that period I have worked with and made some amazing friends whom I am connected to this day…
 
There is nothing wrong in going to office… swipe in your card, get approvals for leave and stuff, sit in appraisals, hit and miss, reviews and end of 9 – 12 hours a day.
 
Whatever you do one thing is certain… that you will get paid end of month and so who really cares what goes on in the day… right?
 
I am sure you LOVE your job. And why wont you? It pays your rent for the upscale flat, lets you move in upmarket car, lets you splurge on fashion, discs restaurants and paid vacations.
 
Now why would you disturb that?
 
What if you can not watch the sunset everyday, walk in the woods every morning or take a swim in the afternoon… There is a lot to do, you’re very important in your role.
 
Shall we say you are indispensable…?
 
Excuse me for a bit of twist there…but if you have worked in an office you know what I mean.
 
Yes you have signed an agreement with your employer… (Go and check what it says) Yes you will find it a bit hazy and yes that’s the way it was intended to be…
 
“Well in plain English you cannot be employed or work for a pay with another party”
(Don’t mistake me for a lawyer though… ask your HR about this and see what happens)
 
So the question is… What can you do while in job so that you develop an alternate income and possibly exit with smile 🙂
 
Now we are talking… aren’t we?
 
Now don’t mistake me advocating Amway or some MLM stuff while in office. (Off-course! you must have come across a colleague doing that)
 
I know you go numb when you think what if not this job…darkness encircles you… worries, suffering and you can hear your heart beat!
 
Fear my friend. Fear keeps you from becoming real you…
Whatever you envisaged for yourself…younger and ambitious… a fountain of talent… now sits stripped down of creativity, zeal and enthusiasm… that once infected everyone in his presence.
Life is about facing fear not sticking to crutches…Inaction will have you happily retired without a woo hoo at the end. (If you no what I mean)
 
So the first step to light up hope for you is BEAT the fear…the fear of failure, uncertainty and doing your own thing!
 
Much much much before you do “your own thing” comes beating the fear and no it will not happen in a day… and yes don’t be foolish to quit your job like a Di#$ head, burn the bridges, call names and show a finger…
 
Fear of fear is a ingrained deep in your mind and it was always there… (fear is bundled with instinct to eat, reproduce and survive… Lizard brain right there)
 
Whenever you think of doing something different…
The lizard brain kicks in and you talk yourself out with excuses.
 
So what can you do?
 
I would suggest use your weekend and see if you can do what you think you can… I am not telling you to do something illegal or in violation of your employment contract.
 
No one can stop you writing a blog, learning a skill, presenting or training… you can even pursue your hobby, buy sell real estate or even freelance. (in compliance to your employment contract off-course)
 
Beat the fear and take the first step. You are your own biggest hurdle…do something about it… Today!

You Want To Quit Rat Race? Two Things That Will Stop You Right Now

The rat race we we find ourselves in is based on what we have been “doctrinated” with starting from the earliest stages of education and continuous conditioning.

Don’t underestimate how difficult it can be overcoming your fears when you have almost become used to being “just another brick in the wall”.

Being independent is not just about money, it is also about having freedom in your thinking and doing what you like, to make a positive impact in your own life and the people you love.

That being said conquering your own fear is something you will encounter time and again until you learn to tame it… Fear may not vanish, but it will scare you no more.

So where do you start? Well as I said earlier it has to be dealt with at psychological level. While I am not a medical specialist or something or claim to be. Its common sense for us to understand for example- Why have you not ventured into a serious Enterprise so far and what has been stopping you?

The second thing I want to bring your attention to is “Self sabotage”. You will never do anything more than what you have already planned. If you have never sat down to list down what your passions are or seriously made a mental resolve to reach an “X” goal. The chances are you never will.

OK so here is what I am going to do. I am going to share with you exactly the same “indoctrination” method I followed myself, to jump off the hamster wheel to make myself aware, confident and above all independent.
